UKULELE FESTIVAL

2020 New Zealand Ukulele Festival cancelled

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty around events and availability of funding, the NZ Ukulele Trust is unable to stage our 2020 Ukulele Festival.  This is disappointing for everyone involved, but keeping our tamariki and their whānau safe is of paramount importance.  The free Festival is a happy day on Auckland’s event calendar, attended annually by over 50% of Kiwilele schools.  However, the Trust has decided that the risks posed with holding a large public gathering at this time is too great.

We appreciate that a performance goal is an important motivational tool for our kids.  We encourage your school to enter K-Factor as this is something we can safely encourage – yay!  All you’ll need to do is send a video of your Kiwilele group performing your favourite 2020 Kiwilele song – you can make this as creative as you like!  The winning group receives the Bill Sevesi K-Factor Award and a music voucher from KBB.
