Bill was a founding patron of NZ Ukulele Trust. His dream that “every child in NZ would get the chance to learn to play the ukulele” continues to inspire the New Zealand Ukulele Trust / Te Rūnanga Ukurere o Aotearoa to make his dream a reality.

Moe mai, moe mai, moe mai rā i te rangimārie.
Ki a tātou te hunga ora, he mihi kauanuanu tēnei ki a koutou katoa mō tō koutou tautoko i te mahi ukurere, i te mahi waiata, i te taonga puoro hoki.
Whaia ōu moemoea!
Nō reira, karawhiua!
Kia rere te ukurere!
Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou,
tēnā rā tātou katoa.
As the Muttonbird voices its presence
As the Parrot voices its presence
So too does the voice of the Ukulele soar!
